In addition to the pharmacological treatments, a non-pharmacological treatment such as exercise is recommended to prevent migraine. This study aimed to investigate the effects of high intensity aerobic training on migraine indicators in the patients. Materials & Methods: The present semi-experimental study with one-group pretest-posttest designing was done on migraine patients of Noorabad City, Iran, using convenience sampling. 12 inactive men with migraine were participated in this study. The study was last 16 weeks. The subjects did high intensity aerobic training in 40-45min and 2 sessions in the week. 48hours after the last training session, body composition indices and aerobic endurance and 4 weeks after completion of the training program, migraine headache indices were reassessed. Statistical analysis was done using student T-test for dependent group by SPSS 19 software. Findings: High intensity aerobic training reduced migraine headache indicators including the attacks frequency (p=0.025), severity of the attacks (p=0.024) and the duration (p=0.031) and it also improved the aerobic fitness of the subjects (p=0.001) significantly. Lipid percentage reduced 1.49% significantly (p=0.024). Conclusion: 8 weeks of high intensity aerobic training program can reduce the migraine headache indices (migraine attack frequency, intensity and the duration).}, Keywords = {Migraine Disorders (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68008881),Excercise (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68015444), Physical Fitness (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68010809),Headache (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68006261)}, volume = {20}, Number = {3}, pages = {133-138}, publisher = {Gonabad University of Medical Sciences}, url = {http://imtj.gmu.ac.ir/article-1-1934-en.html}, eprint = {http://imtj.gmu.ac.ir/article-1-1934-en.pdf}, journal = {Internal Medicine Today}, issn = {2981-0086}, eissn = {2981-0086}, year = {2014} } @article{ author = {hosseini, Ebrahim and Mehrabani, Davood and Razavi, fatemeSadat}, title = {Effect of palm pollen extract on sexual hormone levels and follicle numbers in adult female BALB/c mice}, abstract ={Aims: Using chemical drugs to treat disease often is associated with side effects. Recently, using herbal medicines, which have fewer side effects, has flourished to treat many diseases, including infertility. This study was done aimed to investigate the effect of palm pollen aqueous extract on sexual hormones and follicle cells numbers in adult female BALB/c mice. Materials & Methods: This experimental study was done in animal house of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in 2012. 40 adult female BALB/c mice were divided into 5 control, sham and experimental groups receiving 100, 200 and 400mg/kg of the body weight of the extract groups each with 8 members. Levels of testosterone, estrogen and progesterone were measured by radioimmunoassay and ovarian follicles numbers were counted after separation of the ovaries and sectioning and staining using Hematoxylin & Eosin by light microscopy. The results of hormonal assays were analyzed based on One-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range tests using SPSS 18 software. Findings: A significant increase was observed at the level of testosterone, estrogen and progesterone compared to the control group only in the experimental group 3 (receiving 400mg/kg palm pollen extract) (p<0.01). Also, only in the experimental group 3 a significant increase was observed in the number of secondary follicles (p<0.05) and the number of antral follicles (p<0.01) compared to the control. This gene has been described as "guardian of the genome"," the guardian angel gene", and the " master watchman", referring to its critical role in genomic stability, and tumor suppression mainly by inducing apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and senescence, inhibition of angiogenesis. In this review article were discussed recent advances in p53 research, mainly its role in apoptosis and the approaches to target p53 and its regulators for cancer treatment aimed to either to activate p53 in cancer cells to kill them or temporarily inactivation of p53 in the normal cells to protect them against chemo-radiation. Conclusion: Due to the vital roles of P53 in carcinogenesis inhibition, this protein is one of the most important therapeutic targets for cancer therapy.
